I graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2017 with a Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, concentrating in publication design. My time there instilled in me a newfound appreciation for keyboard shortcuts, grid lines, and breaking design rules. I went on to study interaction design with an emphasis on interfaces & applications, completing my Master's degree in May 2022.
Having transitioned from pastry chef to graphic designer to UXA, I have a strong sense of fundamental UI patterns and UX principles such as mobile-first, information architecture, usability and accessibility. My work ethic, fast paced learning, and attention to detail combine to solve problems all the while focusing on user-centered design.
In my free time I love to be outside and explore all that Chicago has to offer. It helps that my canine companion, Harriet, a 4yo black lab, does too! (Pictures available upon request.)
I'm an avid reader and part of a wonderful book club. My goal this year is to read 36+ books and so far I'm ahead of schedule! A few recent favorites include Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson, This Is How It Always Is by Laurie Frankel and Talking to Strangers by Malcolm Gladwell.
I also still love to cook and bake for friends and co-workers. One of my passions is food photography and styling. Stay tuned for a designated food styling blog, coming soon!
